This is for you, Melynda!

So I haven't written in a while - so what? Well, it seems that one person noticed - my good friend Melynda Dye from church.

She saw me at school the other evening and mentioned that she had not seen anything recently on my blog. She said that it was how she kept up with me when Derek and I were out of town. I shamefully hung my head as I stammered excuses about being "busy" and "working." But we both knew the truth - I'm just lazy when it comes to writing these posts.

So, I believe my last post was from May...since then I have seen my mom retire from teaching (my brother and I threw her a party in Abilene), we went to Port Aransas for Father's Day weekend with Derek's whole family, Derek has been gone for nearly two weeks with a summer camp at UIW and coaches' clinic in Chicago, and I hung out with my friend Anna from school while he was gone. Other than that, I've just been working my two jobs and I just started summer school this week, so that will take me through August 15...and then the fall semester starts the next week!

I actually don't have any more classes after this summer class. I just have to take my comprehensive exams and then I graduate in December! I cannot wait. And please do not ask me what I am going to do after I graduate. This is not college, people. I already have a job (two of them, in fact!), so I'm not going to drop everything and start over in some new town all over again. We're kind of established in San Antonio now, as much as I hate to admit it, so I don't think we'll be going anywhere anytime soon - unless one of us gets an unbelievable job somewhere and we feel like we should go.
